Journeymen and Apprentice Instrumentation and Controls Technicians
Job Description
NPI is looking for highly motivated Journeymen and Apprentice Instrumentation and Controls Technicians to join All Locations: Red Deer, Nisku, Drayton Valley and Grande Prairie. We are growing and we need reliable, committed Instrument Techs to join our team. Contractors are welcome to apply.
Successful candidates require:
- Experience in Instrumentation construction and maintenance within the Oil & Gas sector
- SCADA programming and maintenance experience
- A professional and respectful attitude with a strong customer service focus
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and written
- Ability to work independently and cohesively within groups
- Excellent work history and solid references
- A highly respectful attitude
- A valid driver’s license and a 3-year abstract
- All industry required safety tickets including:
- First Aid/CPR
- H2S (Enform/Energy Safety Canada)
- CSTS (ACSA)
- CSO (Energy Safety Canada)
Tasks and Responsibilities:
JOURNEYMEN:
- Install, repair and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation and control equipment in the industrial Oil & Gas sector
- Use pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments to inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults
- Perform installation/calibration of process control instrumentation such as transmitters, controllers, analyzers and control valves
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, and complete test and maintenance reports
- Respectfully mentor and guide apprentices; lead by example
- Adhere to all company and client health and safety guidelines and regulations
- Ensure paperwork is completed timely and legibly; complete QA/QC documentation
- Be part of on call schedule
- Look for opportunities to promote efficiencies
- Represent NPI in a positive light
APPRENTICES:
- Assist Journeymen in the performance of instrumentation maintenance and construction work
- Complete shop duties as requested; clean up, organization, parts, yard, trucks etc.
- Load and unload work trucks as per job requirements, as requested
- Respectfully take guidance and training from Journeymen
- Adhere to all company and client health and safety guidelines and regulations
- Ensure paperwork is completed in a timely and legible fashion; follow JM guidelines
- Ask questions, learn, be open to growth and attend technical training as required
- Represent NPI in a positive light
Journeymen: Company truck provided. Contracted truck will be considered.
