Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) – Grande Prairie

Our Grande Prairie, AB branch is looking for a highly motivated Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) for field and shop work. NexSource is a privately-owned business with a focus on continuing to build a relevant, dynamic company that provides industry leading value to our current and future customers.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Red Seal Journeyman Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate
  • A minimum 4 years of mechanical maintenance & service. Preference will be given to applicants with previous power generation experience
  • Experience overhauling all makes and models of engines
  • All industry required safety tickets including: First Aid/CPR, H2S (Enform/Energy Safety Canada), CSTS (ACSA), CSO (Energy Safety Canada)
  • An excellent attitude
  • Ability to work independently and cohesively within groups
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Professionalism and a very strong customer service focus
  • A valid driver’s license and an excellent 3-year abstract

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Overhaul engines; numerous makes and models
  • Set up and adjust timing on spark ignition engines
  • Program and troubleshoot generator controls
  • Complete retrofits on generator packages
  • Set up AFR systems and adjust pressure to meet emission standards
  • Read and interpret drawings
  • Work in both field and shop environments
  • Travel from shop to remote areas and work from camps or hotels when required
  • Mentor junior staff / apprentices
  • Follow all OH&S, NexSource and client HSE standards and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Liquid Meter Prover – Sylvan Lake, Rocky Mountain House & Olds Area

NexSource Power Inc., is looking for a Liquid Meter Prover to join our team in the Sylvan Lake, Rocky Mountain House & Olds areas. NexSource is a privately-owned business with a focus on continuing to build a relevant, dynamic company that provides industry leading value to our current and future customers. We are growing and we need reliable, committed personnel to join our team. This position is NOT a camp/out of town position, so it provides the awesome opportunity to be home every night, 99% of the time.

  • Experience in Instrumentation construction and maintenance within the Oil & Gas sector
  • SCADA programming and maintenance experience

JOURNEYMEN:

  • Install, repair and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation and control equipment in the industrial Oil & Gas sector
  • Use pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments to inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults
  • Perform installation/calibration of process control instrumentation such as transmitters, controllers, analyzers and control valves
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, and complete test and maintenance reports
  • Respectfully mentor and guide apprentices; lead by example
  • Adhere to all company and client health and safety guidelines and regulations
  • Ensure paperwork is completed timely and legibly; complete QA/QC documentation
  • Be part of on call schedule
  • Look for opportunities to promote efficiencies
  • Represent NexSource in a positive light

APPRENTICES:

  • Assist Journeymen in the performance of instrumentation maintenance and construction work
  • Complete shop duties as requested; clean up, organization, parts, yard, trucks etc.
  • Load and unload work trucks as per job requirements, as requested
  • Respectfully take guidance and training from Journeymen
  • Adhere to all company and client health and safety guidelines and regulations
  • Ensure paperwork is completed in a timely and legible fashion; follow JM guidelines
  • Ask questions, learn, be open to growth and attend technical training as required

  • Install new electrical service stands and power distribution
  • Trouble shoot and install motor VFD/PLC relay logic power and controls
  • Read engineered drawings to accurately and efficiently install electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues including but not limited to; motors, VFD’s, lighting circuits, control circuits, fire and gas detection, transmitters, analyzers and pumps
  • Read and redline electrical drawings
  • Install tray and conduit systems
  • Cut in, gland and terminate tech cables
  • Understand and interpret Canadian electrical code
  • Scope and order material for small projects and daily work
  • Respectfully mentor and guide apprentices; lead by example
  • Adhere to all company and client health and safety guidelines and regulations
  • Ensure paperwork is completed timely and legibly; complete QA/QC documentation
