North American Power Generation Solutions

Power Systems

EngineeringManufacturingCommissioningLifecycle Support

Delivering reliable, mission-critical power solutions for utilities, data centres, industrial facilities, resource sectors, and independent power producers.

Natural gas turbines from 30 MW, reciprocating generator packages to 3 MW, and combined cycle options to 40 MW — engineered, packaged in Alberta, factory tested, commissioned and supported by one accountable team.

The Challenge

When the grid can't wait.

Across North America, power has become the constraint. Data centres, AI campuses, and industrial expansions are being delayed by interconnection queues, transmission limits, and utility timelines measured in years rather than months.

On-site generation removes that dependency. Purpose-built power — sized, packaged, and commissioned for your site — puts you in control of your own schedule, whether you need bridge power until the grid arrives, permanent prime generation, or a hybrid of both.

NexSource builds that power in Alberta, and supports it for the life of the asset.

Why NexSource

A Canadian manufacturer, not an importer.

Most large-scale power equipment arrives from overseas with support that ends at the port. NexSource designs, packages, commissions, warranties, and services its systems from Alberta — so the people who built your equipment are the people who keep it running.

Canadian manufacturing

Incorporated, headquartered, and operating entirely in Alberta. Packaging and fabrication performed in-province.

Regulatory fluency

ABSA, CSA, and ASME compliance across personnel, systems, and installations, with AESO and AUC alignment for grid-connected projects.

One accountable partner

Integrator, packager, commissioning provider, warranty administrator, and long-term service partner — a single point of responsibility.

Speed

Approximately 12-month lead times, modular deployment, and local parts inventory to protect your schedule.

24/7 response

60+ field technicians dispatched from Red Deer, Edmonton, Drayton Valley and Grande Prairie, any day of the year.

Community Partnership

Enabling project approval. Building communities.

Meaningful community engagement is a foundational element of responsible project development — and a prerequisite for approvals. NexSource works within Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) frameworks, prioritising employment, training, and local procurement in the communities where projects are built.

Community Relations
Financing Support

Structuring the capital, not just the equipment.

Financing is often the most complex step in project execution. NexSource works alongside clients to navigate lender relationships, asset-backed structures, and Canadian program alignment — and, where appropriate, participates directly alongside our customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Power Systems questions.

Does NexSource manufacture gas turbines in Canada?

Yes. NexSource packages and integrates the GTG30 30 MW aeroderivative gas turbine at our Alberta facilities, alongside reciprocating generator packages from 20 kW to 3 MW. Manufacturing, factory acceptance testing, commissioning, and warranty are all handled in-province.

What size power systems can NexSource deliver?

From 20 kW reciprocating gensets to 30 MW per turbine unit, with modular architecture allowing multiple units to be combined into power islands of several hundred megawatts.

How long does it take to get power on site?

Turbine packages are typically available approximately 12 months from deposit. Rental and reciprocating solutions can be deployed considerably faster, and are often used as bridge power while permanent generation is built.

Can NexSource support data centre and AI campus power?

Yes. Our modular turbine architecture is designed for high-density, continuous-duty digital infrastructure loads, including hyperscale, AI/HPC, and edge deployments, with N+1 and 2N redundancy configurations.

Does NexSource service the equipment it supplies?

Yes. We provide commissioning, integrated systems validation, preventive and predictive maintenance, Long-Term Service Agreements, and 24/7 emergency field response from four Alberta dispatch hubs.
