Sectors We Serve

Industries We Power

Built for Western Canada's toughest worksites — and its most demanding loads.

From remote oilfield production to AI data campuses, NexSource delivers power where it's needed and keeps it running. Every sector has its own conditions, duty cycles, and consequences of downtime — so we size, package, and support each installation around the job it has to do.

Why It Differs

Same reliability. Different demands.

A drilling site in the Peace Country and a data centre outside Calgary have almost nothing in common — except that neither can afford to lose power. What changes is everything around it: fuel availability, ambient conditions, load profile, service access, emissions requirements, and how fast you need to be running.

Oilfield Production

Power that runs where the grid doesn't.

Remote production sites demand continuous, unattended power in punishing conditions. Our natural gas and dual-fuel packages run on field gas where available, cutting fuel logistics and emissions while delivering the uptime production depends on. Sound-attenuated, all-weather, and serviced by crews staged across the oil and gas corridor.

What they need

  • Continuous prime power at remote, off-grid sites
  • Field gas and dual-fuel capability to reduce diesel haulage
  • All-weather packages rated for Alberta winters
  • Rapid service response to protect production uptime
  • Temporary power for drilling, completions, and turnarounds

Mining

Heavy loads. Remote sites. No tolerance for downtime.

Mining operations combine high continuous loads with locations far beyond reliable grid supply. We supply and support prime and standby generation for processing, dewatering, ventilation, and camp infrastructure — with modular configurations that scale as the operation grows and redundancy that keeps critical systems live.

What they need

  • High-capacity prime power for continuous processing loads
  • Modular, scalable blocks that expand with the mine plan
  • Redundant configurations for ventilation and dewatering
  • Camp and site infrastructure power
  • Preventive maintenance programs built around production schedules

Agriculture

Keep irrigation, drying, and livestock systems running.

Agricultural operations lose money the moment power stops — irrigation halts, grain drying stalls, and livestock ventilation and milking systems fail. We supply standby and prime generation sized for farm loads, with automatic transfer so critical systems ride through outages without intervention.

What they need

  • Standby power for livestock ventilation, milking, and heating
  • Prime power for irrigation and pumping
  • Grain drying and seasonal peak support
  • Automatic transfer switching for unattended operation
  • Seasonal rentals for harvest and peak demand

Forestry & Logging

Mobile power for operations that keep moving.

Forestry sites relocate constantly and rarely have grid access. We provide trailer-mounted and skid-based generation that deploys quickly, runs reliably in remote terrain, and moves with the operation — supporting equipment, shops, and camp infrastructure.

What they need

  • Mobile, rapidly redeployable power packages
  • Remote camp and shop power
  • Equipment and maintenance facility supply
  • Fuel-efficient units for extended off-grid runtime
  • Site lighting for extended-hours operation

Infrastructure & Construction

Power on site before the grid arrives.

Construction schedules rarely wait for permanent service. We deliver temporary power sized to each phase — from early site works and tower cranes through to commissioning — with distribution, lighting, and the flexibility to scale up or down as the build progresses.

What they need

  • Temporary power from site mobilisation through commissioning
  • Scalable capacity as the build progresses
  • Distribution, cabling, and site lighting
  • Bridge power while permanent service is connected
  • Short and long-term rental terms

Commercial & Industrial

Protect operations, inventory, and occupants.

For manufacturing plants, warehouses, healthcare facilities, and commercial buildings, an outage means lost production, spoiled inventory, or life-safety risk. We supply standby generation with automatic transfer, plus prime and peak-shaving systems for facilities managing demand charges or grid constraints.

What they need

  • Standby generation with automatic transfer
  • Peak shaving to manage demand charges
  • Life-safety and code-required backup systems
  • Planned maintenance and load bank testing
  • Prime power for grid-constrained facilities

Data Centres & AI Infrastructure

Purpose-built generation for continuous digital load.

Data centres and AI campuses need power that is continuous, high-density, and available long before the grid can deliver it. NexSource manufactures modular gas turbine and generator systems in Alberta specifically for this application — engineered for fast ramp rates, N+1 and 2N redundancy, and campus-scale replication.

What they need

  • Behind-the-meter and bridge power while interconnection is pending
  • Continuous-duty generation for high-density AI and HPC loads
  • Modular blocks that replicate across campus phases
  • N+1 and 2N redundancy configurations
  • Long-term service agreements protecting availability

How It Works

From a phone call to power on site.

The sector changes what we put on the ground. It doesn't change how we get it there.

01

Tell us the load

Connected load, starting load, duty cycle, and what happens if it stops. If you don't have the numbers, we'll work them out from the equipment list.

02

We size and quote

Sizing against real load rather than nameplate, so you're not renting capacity that idles. Fuel, distribution, and service are quoted with it, not after it.

03

Delivered and commissioned

Set, connected, and load tested before you rely on it. Our crews hand over a unit that's running, not one that's been dropped off.

04

Supported while it runs

Planned maintenance on your schedule and 24/7 response when something doesn't go to plan — from the same team that commissioned it.

Before You Call

The questions we get most often.

Still not sure? Ring 403-887-4567 — sizing advice costs nothing.

How quickly can you get power to a site?

Rental units in stock can usually be on the road the same week, and often sooner for an outage. Purpose-built packages take longer — we'll give you a real date at quote rather than an optimistic one.

Can a generator run on the gas already at my site?

In most cases, yes. Our natural gas and dual-fuel packages are built to run on field gas where the quality and pressure allow it, which removes diesel haulage from the job entirely. A gas analysis is required first — liquid carry-over damages engines.

Should I rent or buy?

Rent when the job has an end date, the load is still moving, or you need power this week. Buy when the load is permanent and runs most of the year. Plenty of customers rent first and purchase once the load settles — the same unit either way.

What size do I actually need?

More than the running load and less than the nameplate total. Motor starting, future expansion and duty cycle all move the number. Send us the equipment list and we'll size it — there's no charge for that.

Do you service what you don't supply?

Yes. Our technicians work on other makes as well as our own, and carry parts for the fleet we support most often.

What happens if it fails at 2 a.m.?

You call the same number you always call and a technician is dispatched from the nearest of our five Alberta locations. Emergency response runs every day of the year, not business hours.

Tell us about your site.

Send us your industry, load, and location — we'll recommend the right equipment and get you a quote.
