Natural gas and diesel generators for sale, from 25 kW to 1.9 MW, for Calgary buildings, industrial parks and acreages in the counties around the city. Each listing carries its own voltage, fuel and output, and the set you pick is quoted in writing and sold from our yard in Red Deer.
These cards are pulled from our stock list each time the page is opened, so a unit that has sold is already gone from it. Compare the voltage line with your switchgear first; then open a listing for its full specification and to check whether it is also offered for rent or on rent-to-own.

Want a shorter list? Browse natural gas generators for sale or diesel generators for sale by fuel, see the used and surplus generators on their own, or scan generators by size in kW order. Load banks, engines and the rest of what we sell are on Equipment for sale.
Most enquiries from the Calgary area fit one of these. Knowing which one you are in tells you what to measure before you call, and saves a round of questions after.
The building already has a pad, a transfer switch and an exhaust route, and the new generator has to fit all three. Start from the old unit's nameplate and the transfer switch rating, not from a fresh guess at the load.
Emergency standby generators →Server rooms, telecom closets and labs that have been relying on the grid alone. Size the set to what must stay on through an outage, and decide early whether the transfer has to happen without the load noticing.
Data centre power →Warehouses and shops on the city's industrial edges, where utility gas is often already at the meter. A natural gas set there runs on the same supply the heaters use, with no fuel deliveries to schedule.
Natural gas generators for sale →Properties in Rocky View, Foothills and Wheatland counties, where the service may be single-phase and gas may not reach. Check the phase and voltage on a card against the property first: these are industrial sets, and diesel with its own tank is often the practical fuel.
Diesel generators for sale →Output gets a generator onto the list. These three usually decide whether it stays there, and none of them is printed in the kW figure.
A downtown tower, a strip mall and a plant in the east-side parks can each sit on a different service voltage. Read it off the switchgear and match it to the voltage line on the card.
A set that sits outside can see a deep freeze and a mild afternoon in the same week, with condensation and battery strain in between. Ask what the unit carries for that: enclosure, block heater and battery charger. NPI Series packages can be specified with a winter package.
A building fit-out or an expanding shop can outrun the set bought for it. NPI Series packages are parallel-ready, so a second unit can be added later instead of replacing the first with something larger.

Our only location is in Red Deer, and that is where a Calgary buyer's generator is sold from. The practical result is simple: anything you want to know about the unit is best asked while it is still in our yard, not once it is sitting on your pad.
Ask for the hours and the condition to be written into the quote. Ask for the set to be run under load, not just started and left idling; we rent and sell load banks too, so put that request in the enquiry. Raise how the unit will get to your building or property at the same time, so transport is settled on paper along with the price.
Choosing between a newer set and an older one with a lower price? The new vs. used generator buying guide explains how to read hours, overhaul history and time in storage.
Connecting a generator to a building permanently is electrical work, and a gas set adds gas work on top. Inside city limits the permits come from the City of Calgary; on an acreage or in a neighbouring town, from the municipality the property is in.
The installation itself belongs to your licensed electrical contractor and gas fitter. Involve them before you settle on a unit: the transfer switch, the route for the gas line and the clearances around the pad often decide the size and fuel for you.
Swapping a building's standby set leaves a gap between the old unit coming out and the new one being commissioned. Our generator rentals in Calgary can cover that gap through a transfer switch, so the critical load is never left on the grid alone.
Renting also makes sense when you cannot yet say how big the load will be or how long it will last. Read renting vs. buying an industrial generator to see where owning starts to pay for itself.
These units can start on a rental, with the payments counted toward buying the set:
No. We have one location, in Red Deer, roughly 150 kilometres north of Calgary on the QE2. The generators on this page are sold from there, and Calgary and the surrounding counties are an area we serve rather than a branch.
Prices are not published, because the figure depends on the individual set: its hours, condition, voltage, enclosure and controls. Pick a listing, or send the load you need to carry, and we will put a price for that unit in writing. Call (403) 887-4567 or use the contact form.
Yes, if a listed set suits the load and the building. Send the nameplate of the existing generator, the size of the transfer switch and the voltage at the switchgear, and we will tell you which units fit. A rental can carry the critical load while the old set is removed and the new one is connected.
The one on your switchgear nameplate. Calgary commercial buildings are often 120/208 V and industrial services often 347/600 V, while many generators are built for 480 V. Each card on this page lists the unit's voltage, so compare it with the service before you shortlist anything; a mismatch adds a transformer to the job.
Your licensed electrical contractor, and your gas fitter for a gas set. A permanently connected generator needs permits from the authority having jurisdiction: the City of Calgary inside city limits, or the municipality the property sits in outside them. Installation is not something we quote here; we help you choose the generator.
Most of the fleet is offered for rent as well as for sale, so a set showing both badges can start on a rental term. Rent-to-own, with rental payments counted toward buying the unit, applies only where the listing carries the Rent to Own badge.
Send the listing you are interested in, or the load, the voltage at your switchgear, the fuel available and whether the set is for standby or prime power. If something we are selling fits, you get a written price for it; if nothing does, we will say so.
