The NPI Series

Industrial generators, built in Canada.

The NPI Series is designed, manufactured, tested and supported by NexSource Power in Red Deer, Alberta. Natural gas and propane generator packages from 170 kW to 350 kW — parallel-ready, sound attenuated, and serviced by the people who built them.

What Makes It Different

We build it, so we can stand behind it.

Most generator packages are assembled by one company, sold by another and serviced by a third. When something needs changing, or something goes wrong, that chain is where the answers get lost.

The NPI Series is different because the whole chain sits in one place. We specify the engine and alternator, package and decal the unit, load test it before it leaves the shop, and service it in the field afterwards. That control is what lets the series be designed around the way equipment actually gets used in Western Canada — dual fuel because sites have gas, parallel-ready because loads grow, and a winter package because it has to start at -40.

It also means improvements go back into the next build rather than into a suggestion box. The people who hear what broke are the people who draw the next one.

Available Models

Three sizes, one platform.

Same controls, same enclosure design, same support. Pick on load, not on which one you can get.

Features & Benefits

Specified for the work, not the brochure.

01

Built in Red Deer

Designed, packaged, tested and supported by NexSource. Not badged, not drop-shipped — the people who built it are the people who answer the phone.

02

Natural gas or propane

Dual-fuel across the series. On a producing site that means running on gas you already have, with no haulage cycle and no tank to guard.

03

Parallel-ready as standard

A ComAp parallel-capable controller with start-up synchronisation, load and VAR sharing built in from the factory, not added later.

04

Two-breaker design

A main load breaker plus a dedicated load bank breaker, so the set can be properly loaded whether the bank is automatic or manual.

05

Sound-attenuated enclosure

Weather-resistant and attenuated as standard, with an optional winter package — block heater and speed-controlled fan — for Alberta cold.

06

Camlock connections

Quick-connect camlocks and internal vibration isolation, so a unit lands and connects rather than needing a week of site work.

Manufacturing

Packaged and tested in Red Deer.

Every NPI Series unit is built in our own shop: frame and enclosure, engine and alternator, controls, breakers, cabling and finish. Nothing is subcontracted out and re-badged on the way through.

Before a unit ships it is load tested and the results recorded, so it leaves proven rather than assumed. That test sheet goes with the machine.

Industries & Applications

Where the series ends up.

Oil & gas

Wellsite prime power, batteries, compressor stations and facilities — often on field gas.

Industrial

Continuous and standby generation for plants, shops and processing facilities.

Commercial

Standby power where an outage stops trade, not just work.

Emergency backup

Automatic transfer, tested under load, ready for the day the utility fails.

Remote operations

Camps, lodges and off-grid sites where the nearest alternative is hours away.

Construction

Temporary power through the build, scaling up as the site does.

Utilities

Peaking, load support and paralleled blocks where capacity has to grow in steps.

Rent to own

Rent it. Then own it.

Every NPI Series model is available on a rent-to-own basis, so rental payments go toward owning the unit rather than disappearing at the end of the term. It suits a site that needs power now and expects to keep needing it — you get the machine on the ground without the capital decision up front, and the option to keep it once the load proves out.

Service, Parts & Support

The part that starts after delivery.

A generator is only as good as the support behind it. Because we build the series, support isn't a third-party arrangement — it's the same company, in the same province.

Field service

Service teams across Alberta with emergency dispatch 24/7, every day of the year.

Parts

Parts for the series come from the people who built the package, not a distributor two countries away.

Commissioning

Start-up, load testing and handover, with the results written down rather than assumed.

Planned maintenance

Scheduled servicing, oil sampling and load bank testing on an interval that suits how the unit actually runs.

Warranty terms depend on the model, the configuration and how the unit is run. Ask us for the terms that would apply to your build.
